Frequently Asked Questions about Silicone Defoamer

Q: Will this silicone defoamer cause oil spots (fisheyes)? +

This is a common concern. Standard silicone emulsions can cause defects if incompatible. However, INVINO uses Modified Polysiloxane technology to balance defoaming power with compatibility.

To ensure safety, do not overdose (start with 0.1%) and always perform a compatibility test before mass production.

Q: Can I dilute the silicone defoamer with water? +

We strongly advise against diluting with raw water directly.

Adding water interferes with the HLB balance. If you must dilute, please read our detailed guide: How to Dilute Silicone Defoamer, or use thickened water/process liquid within 8 hours.

Q: How is the shear stability? +

Shear stability is critical for jet dyeing and paper sizing. INVINO silicone defoamers are tested at high shear rates to ensure the emulsion remains stable without oil precipitation.

Q: What is the temperature tolerance? +

Standard grades are stable up to 100°C. For HTHP dyeing (up to 130°C), please request our Specialty Silicone grade.

Q: Why does it stratify after storage? +

Slight stratification is normal due to gravity. Simply stir gently before use. Store between 5°C and 35°C.
