Project Description
Cement Defoamer & Concrete Admixture Antifoams
Foam control is essential for the workability, strength, and durability of cement and concrete. Uncontrolled air in cement slurries, mortars, grouts, and concrete admixtures creates voids and surface defects that weaken the finished structure.
INVINO® makes defoamers for the demanding chemistry of cementitious systems. In dry-mix mortars and in PCE (polycarboxylate) superplasticizer production, excess foam lowers the compressive strength and spoils the surface finish of the hardened concrete.
Our defoamers control the air-void structure without oil-bleeding or separation. They hold air content within spec for reliable flow and a dense, smooth finish, and stay stable in the high-alkaline (pH 12–13) cement environment.

Key Application Areas for Construction Defoamers
Foam control in cement is key to hitting targets for air content, density, and workability in grouts and masonry blocks.
PCE superplasticizers entrain air easily. Our liquid grades stay compatible and keep foam down in concentrated admixtures.
In dry-mix products, foam lowers compressive strength and spoils the surface. Powder grades release air instantly on hydration for a smooth, level finish.
Controlling bubbles in high-solids cement slurry is critical for FCB. Active polymers prevent micro-voids and keep load-bearing uniform.

Q: Is this defoamer compatible with Polycarboxylate Ether (PCE) Superplasticizers?
A: Yes. INVINO-8061 / 8081 are polyether defoamers made for high solubility and stability inside concentrated PCE liquids. They prevent phase separation or oil-slicking during extended storage.
Q: Will using this defoamer improve the compressive strength of concrete?
A: Yes. By removing macro-bubbles and air pockets entrained during mixing, the defoamer raises consolidation density, which helps maintain hardened compressive strength.
Q: Can it help eliminate "bug holes" on the concrete surface?
A: Yes. Bug holes form when macro-bubbles collect at the mold face. Our defoamers drain bubbles quickly to give a smooth precast surface.
Q: Is the defoamer stable in high-alkaline environments (high pH)?
A: Yes. Hydrating cement reaches pH 12.0–13.0. INVINO® powder grades use robust inorganic carriers that resist hydrolysis at high pH.
Q: How should I apply the defoamer — direct addition or pre-mix?
A: For dry-mix mortars and plasters, pre-blend the powder grade evenly with the dry feedstock. For liquid concrete admixtures, meter the liquid in during let-down under agitation for even dispersion.
